Allow us to break from our normal subject matter for a moment, to bring you news of the worst start to a press conference of all time.
FIFA boss Sepp Blatter, who famously poked fun at Ireland for our attempts to enter the 2010 World Cup as a ’33rd team’, was staging his first conference since announcing he would step down as the head of the world football governing body later this year.
His resignation came in the wake of a string of arrests of top FIFA officials, as well as mounting questions over the awarding process of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups to Russia and Qatar respectively.
And today, comedian Simon Brodkin – who recently interrupted Kanye’s Glastonbury set in character as Lee Nelson – somehow made his way on stage and threw fake cash at Blatter, claiming it was for a North Korea bid for the 2026 World Cup.

You can’t help but feel that this picture is going to stay with him – and us – forever.

Oh this is just too good.
