Choosing when to go for coffee can be a lot. There seem to be new cafes popping up left, right and centre these days.
With coffee prices seeming to go up by the minute, you want to make sure you’re spending your money wisely. We are in a cost of living crisis after all!
So if you’ve been either looking for a new spot to try in Dublin or don’t know where to go for that first date, here are some tried and tested spots where you can get your caffeine fix—or matcha if that’s what you’re into.
Regardless of if you like a sit-down coffee chat or a takeaway and stroll, there’s something for everyone on this list. Let's dive right in!
1. Kaph
Located on Drury Street
Located on the infamous Drury Street, you’ll find the award-winning speciality coffee shop Kaph. Open daily, this chic two-storey coffee shop is the perfect place for a January catch-up with pals as you look out over the hustle and bustle of those serving on Drury duty from the safety of the window. You can even play fun games like spot the Pellador jumper.
They also have some delicious sweet treats to try if you get there early enough!
2. Cornucopia
Located on Wicklow Street
The mother and daughter owned Cornucopia, located on Wicklow street is a particular favourite of ours. Situated across three floors of a restored Georgian home, Cornucopia is perhaps Dublin's most well-known for its delicious vegan menu but it's important not to overlook its delicious coffee and tasty vegan sweet treats. The chocolate and walnut brownie heated up with some vegan cream and a cup of coffee is the perfect midweek pick-me-up.
For all the students out there, they also offer a 30% student discount on Wednesdays when you show your student card!
3. Cloud Cafe
Located on the North Strand
Cloud Cafe is a neighbourhood cafe located on the North Strand. Open seven days a week, this spot has cemented itself as a must-visit for many since it opened in 2016. You will often find it overflowing with people all eager to grab a delicious bite or a quick takeaway coffee.
Within Cloud Cafe you will often find pieces and designs by local artists which are always wonderful to peruse.
4. Happy Out Cafe

With multiple locations, Happy Out cafe is a fan favourite of many Dubs. So whether you're taking a stroll on Bull Island or visiting the Dun Laoghaire Baths, Happy Out will be there waiting for you with a hot cup of joe.
5. Honey Honey
Located in Portmarnock and Rahney
With locations in Portmarnock and Rahney, Honey, Honey is a vibrant coffee experience. Since opening its Portmanock location in 2018 it has been acknowledged as one of Ireland’s top 50 cafes. Offering delicious sweet treats and a seasonal menu, you never quite know what to expect from this colourful dog-friendly cafe.
6. The Tram

With seven locations across Dublin, including St Patrick's Park and Griffith Park, The Tram Café has driven itself into the hearts of many.
Known for a banging brunch menu, it's the perfect place to grab a quick bite and a coffee to go before taking a stroll around the likes of the Iveagh Gardens or Albert College Park and catching up with your mates.
7. Two Pups
Multiple locations
You've probably already heard of Two Pups. With cafes in Fairview and on Francis Street, you can expect to find queues out the door for both their coffee and banging food menu. If you're lucky enough to get a seat, we applaud you! If not, their Fairview location is right opposite the Fairview Park, so you can take a walk around there and count how many dogs you see running around.
8. Bestseller Café
Located on Dawson Street
Located in the historic former National Bible Society on Dawson Street, the Bestseller Café is a picturesque place to go to get your caffeine fix. Serving top-quality coffee, this spot is the perfect place to either sit back and relax as you watch the world go by or have a much-needed debrief with friends.
9. Ten10 Coffee
Multiple Locations
Nothing quite beats grabbing a morning açaí and coffee from 10Ten. With three locations across Dublin, Ten10 are on a noble quest as they serve over 500 açaí bowls daily. Their açaí is vegan-friendly and gluten-free, with gluten-free granola available on request too! So if you’re looking for a 10/10 açaí and coffee combo, look no further.
10. The Green Straw
Located in Swords
If you’re looking for an amazing breakfast to accompany your morning coffee, look no further than The Green Straw. Located on Swords Main Street, they are open daily and offer everything from eggs to pancakes. After indulging in some delicious brekkie, you can take your coffee to-go and head off for a walk around the historic Swords Castle.
11. Mimis
Located on Pearse Street
Serving speciality coffee at reasonable prices, Mimi’s on Pearse Street is a must-go location. Upon arrival you will be greeted by a pink hue, Mimi’s signifier. Inside you will find plenty of seats, making it the perfect place for a catch-up. They also offer some delicious pastries if you're lucky enough to nab one.
12. Two Boys Brew
Irish Restaurants Awards Best Cafe in Dublin 2025 Two Boys Brew is the ideal place for a meet-up! You can find them on the North Circular Road, only a stone's throw away from where the monthly Le Zeitgeist Flea Market takes place. This makes Two Boys Brew the perfect destination for a post-market coffee and brunch.

13. Green Bench
With queues out the door, Green Bench Cafe on Montague Street does a mean midday coffee. Here you can expect to find top-tier sandwich options and a plethora of delicious vegan treats. Their chocolate chip cookie in particular is definitely worth trying! So whether you're looking for a coffee to get you to the end of the workday or a matcha to sip on while you peruse the Camden Street charity shops, Green Bench has you covered.
