The shop window is a treasure in itself, and I often find myself stopping to admire its colourful contents. Currently decked out with birthday cards and a giant avocado balloon (an ode to its recent fifth birthday celebrations) I have my eye on one of the fabulous Frida Kahlo carrier bags that usually grace the shopfront. Past displays even saw ‘El Bully’ Donald Trump make an appearance, alongside the message ‘build bridges, not walls’.

By day a vibrant grocer and pantry, by night a celebrated cookery school. The inside transforms into an intimate kitchen, welcoming wannabe chefs and Mexican culture enthusiasts alike.

Book into one of the evening cooking classes and you’ll learn the basics of authentic Mexican cuisine and, better yet, get to enjoy a sit down meal at the end! Bonus points that you can BYOB. Workshops are in hot demand though, so make sure to pre-book well in advance.
