A Massive Gin Festival Is Happening In Dublin Next Month

Megan Cassidy

Lovers of the Juniper berry – crack open the diary and make a note of this one.

For the second year running, the city centre will become a haven of all things gin for the second annual Gin Experience Dublin festival next month.

The festival will take place in the gorgeous Printworks in Dublin castle on April 12 & 13 and will be a celebration of all things related to the glorious juniper berry.

Attendees will get the chance to sample gins from over 40 producers, and there’ll also be gin masterclasses, bespoke food pairings and cocktail bars.

Sounds pretty perfect.

Tickets will set you back €40, (€10 of which goes to Debra Ireland), and you can choose from three different sessions:

Friday, April 12th; 6:30 – 9pm

Sat, April 13th, 1 – 4:30pm

Sat, April 13th, 5:30 – 9pm

Last year, a whopping €18,000 was raised for Debra Ireland and organisers are hoping to do even better this year.

Debra Ireland’s Head of Fundraising, Judith Gilsenan said:

“It is wonderful to be part of this exciting event and we are very grateful that Gin Experience Dublin is helping to raise not just funds, but also awareness of Debra Ireland and EB butterfly skin.”

Three hundred people in Ireland are currently living with the hugely distressing butterfly skin condition EB (epidermolysis bullosa), which causes the skin, both inside and out, to blister and wound at the slightest touch.

There is no known cure for EB and the only treatment is constant painful bandaging of the skin.

Tickets to the Gin Experience Dublin are available here.
