One Of Dublin’s Most Iconic Coffee Outlets Has Sadly Closed Down

It's a sad morning for city centre commuters, as the news has filtered through that the legendary coffee kiosk on Leeson St. has closed down.

The pretty red brick cafe was built in 1929 as a water pressure station, public toilets and kiosk, and has been serving steaming hot cups of coffee to passersby as long as we can remember.

In fact, the cute cafe has been open for more than 40 years, so we can see why locals are absolutely devastated that their go-to spot is no more.

The owner of the kiosk posted the sad news in the store window earlier this week:

It's always sad when businesses in the city have to close down, especially considering this has stood the test of time and survived a recession.

Here's hoping someone new will take over the beautiful little brick building soon, and keep the historical kiosk in action.
