Shamim de Brún

Old Town Wine Bar is a new addition to Dublin’s historic quarter.

Old Town Wine Bar is offering a carefully selected range of wines and a menu of small plates. Located on Le Pole Square, between Chancery Street and Ship Street Great, the bar is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 4 pm.

The wine list includes over 70 options. These include producers around the world, with a focus on sustainable, organic, vegan, biodynamic, and natural wines. More than half are available by the glass, alongside Champagne and pét-nat selections.

The menu is designed to complement the wines. It features small plates such as Dingle Bay crab rolls, croquettes, tartare, and Gildas, as well as dishes like confit Skeaghanore duck and braised Hereford beef.

The bar is designed with wood paneling, leather booths, and marble-topped tables. There is also outdoor seating under heated umbrellas. Its location on Le Pole Square, a landscaped public space, offers a quiet setting away from busier streets. The square is named after the sixth century church of St Michael Le Pole. The footprint of whom remains visible nearby.

Old Town Wine Bar is a short walk from Dublin Castle, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Christchurch Cathedral, Trinity College, and St Stephen’s Green.
