One spot in Dublin who knows this very well is the beloved Walshs Pub in Stoneybatter. We say beloved, ‘cos it won the All-Ireland Pub of The Year 2018 award in the Irish Restaurant Awards.

A traditional Irish pub situated in the heart of Stoneybatter, Walshs offers ‘the very finest beers, wines and sprits.” You can sit cosy in their snug, or soak up the pub atmosphere the main bar.

The initiative started a few years ago when locals began bringing in their own cheesy snacks, and soon spread to being a total cheese fest with cheeseboards being passed around the pub to share for anyone who wants a bite.

Free cheese? No wonder they won Pub of the Year.
