A Night In Celebration Of The Tragic ’27 Club’ Will Take Place In Dublin

James Fenton

27 is no age to pass away but sadly a number of the world’s most celebrated musicians never made past the all-too-young milestone.

The likes of Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix all died in various different circumstances at the same age and alongside a whole host of others will forever be known as ‘The 27 Club.’

To celebrate the musical and cultural significance of the icons, The Bowery in Rathmines is putting on a night called, you’ve guessed it, ‘The 27 Club’, which is set to feature a ‘host of Ireland’s finest musicians coming together to celebrate the music of: Robert Johnson, Brian Jones (Rolling Stones), Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain (Nirvana), Amy Winehouse & More.’

What’s more, seeing as the event will take place in October, party-goers are encouraged to turn up dressed as their favourite member of the 27 Club. Didn’t think you’d be making Halloween plans already, did ya? Oh, and it takes place on October 27. Obviously.

Tickets will be on sale soon and more information can be found here
