There’s A Banana Themed Pop-Up Kitchen On Just Eat Today For Charity

Sarah

Did you know that today is National Banana Day? Well ya do now.

And something very tasty and very banana-y is happening in the city centre today to celebrate the town going bananas and to raise funds for the purchase of new multisensory equipment at Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

Being promoted by fruit importers Fyffes, with support from Just Eat, people can order a a takeaway from the pop-up ‘Fyffes Kitchen’ which will be preparing an array of quirky, banana-infused dishes for one day only.

On National Banana day, from 4.30pm to 9.30pm, diners can search for ‘Fyffes Kitchen’ on the Just Eat app and choose from a special three-course menu before ordering for delivery within Dublin 1,2,3,4,6 & 8.

The full proceeds from every Fyffes Kitchen order on the Just Eat app will go directly to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

The menu itself was created by pioneering food-innovation chef Kevin Powell. Kevin has devised a menu including a choice of starters, main courses and desserts, all of which are centered around Fyffes bananas.

Each dish is flavoured with fantastically tasty sweet or savoury dressings, sauces and accompaniments. Delish.

 Dishes will include:

o   Spiced Banana Chip and Herb Salad with Pineapple-Chili Dressing (Starter)

o   Apple, Banana and Tomato Butter Chicken with Jasmine Rice (Main)

o   Banana Cashew Pineapple Curry (Main)

o   Banana & Bacon Milkshake (Dessert).

Yep, that’s right, a Banana & Bacon Milkshake. *drools*

Those living outside the delivery areas within Dublin city* can make a €4 donation by texting the word BANANA to 50300.
