The Election Won't Be Called Until Tomorrow – But At Least We Know What Day It Will Be

Enda, you sure know how to keep us waiting.
It's been announced in the last few minutes that the Taoiseach won't be going to the Áras today, meaning it will be tomorrow by the time the General Election is called.
However, the change means that the polling day is almost certain to be February 26 – a Friday – which will come as a major relief for several students and workers who wish to vote in their home constituencies.
That's not to say the news is good for everyone, however – as Today FM's Gavan Reilly pointed out, some candidates may have been caught out by the unexpected switch:
