Highstreet stores are grand and all – but we’ve got a soft spot for the indie shops of our capital.

These brilliant boutiques might not have been on your radar before but they definitely should be.

1. Scout, Templebar

This lifestyle store is nestled in the Cow’s Lane district in Templebar, Scout is stockpiled with Irish-made scarves, essential woolly jumpers, fine jewellery and some of the most unique homeware accessories in the city.

We love.

2. A Nowhere Man, Aungier Street

Opposite one of our fave dining spots, Whitefriar Grill, A Nowhere Man is generating buzz in Dublin’s menswear scene.

This is the coolest concept store for guys, with exclusive labels, one-off sunnies and unusual fragrances. Definitely one for the fashion-forward boys.

3. MoMuse, Powerscourt Centre

This pint-sized store takes the biscuit. Pop in to MoMuse where Margaret O’Rourke’s selection of fine jewellery continuously get's us drooling. This shop is the go-to for birthday presents. And by that we mean presents for us. Just us.

4. Dust Interiors, Grantham Street

Interior mavens will love Dust, a homeware haven just off Camden Street. The girls here have amazing taste and an impeccable eye for style. Pop in for a goo at their copper lighting fixtures, luxe rugs and quirky cushions.

Note: may cause house envy.

5. Hippenings, online

Online shops count too, right? Dubliner Laura Cunningham’s Hippenings.com is a find and a half. Where else can you order pinatas, enormous confetti-filled balloons and glittery party crowns in one place?

PS: they come wrapped to your door beautifully – this is the best online retail pick-me-up EVER.

6. Parfumarija, Westbury Mall

Bet you didn’t know that Dublin is home to one of the most niche perfume shops around. Parfumarija stock the most unusual, hard-to-find, unique scents in their plush boutique, and they’ll stop at nothing to find the most noteworthy fragrance to suit your mood.

Just visiting here for a whiff is a experience with a difference.
