7 Of The Best Places In Dublin For Dapper Groom Gear

cynthia

With all the talk about the bride’s dress, the poor old groom’s suit often takes a back seat.

But of course it’s just as important that the groom feels amazing in his wedding suit. So get kitted out like the dapper gent you are in one of these fantastic Dublin formalwear shops.

Suits you Sir.

1. Aston Formal

Aston Formal Wear on Temple Bar’s Aston Street, has a massive range of suits, whether you’re after something cool and unfussy, evening or morning tails, or something a bit more ‘out there’.

We’re really loving the black tie stock – got to love a groom brave enough to rock a velvet jacket with a scoop neck waistcoat and stopwatch.

2. Monza

Monza, located on Dawson Street in the city centre, has a huge range of suits, accessories and shoes at fantastic prices – seriously. This is your go-to if you want a cool, modern suit from brands like Barutti and Lambretta – while if you’re after the country gent look they have a great range of three-piece tweed numbers.

Hire suits are also available from Protocol for Men, located on the premises.

3. Dorian Black

There are three branches of Dorian Black in South Anne’s Lane, GPO Arcade and Balbriggan. They have a huge range of stock – with suits in every colour and cut you could imagine. Our pick? Their range of double breasted suits – they’re smart, and that little bit different.

And if you’re kitting out your groomsmen they offer a range of good value wedding rental packages.

4. Bond Brothers

Located in Goatstown, Dublin 14, Bond Brothers sets themselves apart with their extensive range of highland wear – the largest in the country. We have to say we’re big fans of the kilt and sporran look, so if you want to give a proud nod to your Scot heritage you’ll be spoiled for choice.

They also have an extensive range of regular wedding suits and black tie numbers to hire and to buy.

5. Love Suits

With stores in Fairview, Tallaght, D’Olier Street, Swords and Dun Laoghaire, Love Suits couldn’t be more accessible. They like their colour in Love Suits, so it’s a great choice if you want something a bit different.

We’re especially loving the cool burgundy three-piece and the range of suits with contrasting coloured waistcoats – all available to buy or hire.

6. Louis Copeland

These guys are going years – nearly 100 in fact – so you can rest assured they know what they’re doing. With their fantastic range of suits to buy, rent or have made-to-measure by their experienced tailors, getting kitted out for the best day of your life will be a breeze.

There are branches all over Dublin, so check their site for the one closest to you.

7. Brown Thomas

Sure, they’re going to be on the pricier end of the scale, but hey, if ladies can spend the national debt on a dress, why can’t you splash out on a luxury suit?

The downstairs menswear floor of Brown Thomas is wall-to-wall Hugo Boss, Paul Smith London and Gieves and Hawkes – and it’s worth knowing too that they have a very nice toilet for customers. So nice in fact, I know someone who pops in especially to use the bog.
