This Couple’s Wedding Venue Closed Down Suddenly Just 8 Weeks Before The Big Day. Can You Help Them?

It’s basically the worst thing you can imagine happening in the run-up to a wedding.

But with just eight weeks to go before what should be the happiest and most carefree day of their lives, Roibeárd Ó Gormáin and Kerrie Ó Faoláin received the devastating news that their venue was quite simply no more.

Middleton Park House Hotel in Co Westmeath was closed due to a need for “substantial work to … comply with a fire enforcement notice”, as explained in the email below received by the couple and posted to Kerrie’s Facebook page.

Despite the developments, the Middleton Park House website is still live, and shows no indication of any closure – in fact, even the ‘Book Now’ button is still active.

Nonetheless, the situation is very real for those whose arrangements were cancelled – and Kerrie has appealed for users of Facebook to share the post in the hope that they nail down an alternative venue before May 14.
