Warning: contains distressing information and potential triggers

Adrian Kennedy of 98FM was "extremely shaken and upset" today after a listener sent in a highly threatening text message to the Dublin Talks radio show this morning, which is hosted by Adrian and Jeremy Dixon.

Jeremy tweeted the shocking text message from his personal account today, adding that Adrian is "still a bit shaken" and that the Gardai have been notified.

Adrian said on air, "We will be forwarding your text message on to the gardaí because your text is the most vile text I've ever, ever received while doing a radio programme in Dublin. I'm shocked."

Sounding upset, he added, "I am horrified that somebody would send in a message like that to me.  I'm just here doing a bloody job.  How dare you send a message like that in while I'm trying to do a live radio programme?"

The sender of the text message then sent another message into show, saying "I am the owner Adrian and I'm sorry.

"This is my work phone and I'm really sorry that that scumbag that sent it.  I sent him home.  I'm so sorry.  This is my work phone. How dare he find it funny, then knock my phone off.  I'm really sorry."

98FM confirmed Gardaí have been now notified and an investigation is taking place.
