A new survey has just been released with some surprising figures on drug use amongst college students...

This new survey found that 82% of Irish students have tried illegal drugs, 98% have consumed alcohol, with 82% having tried cigarettes or tobacco products.

According to The Irish Independent, its findings were released as Junior Justice Minister Aodhán Ó Ríordáin attended a special 'Help Not Harm' (HNH) event on the issues surrounding drug use in Ireland.

The findings could not be more relevant, as Minister Ó Ríordáin is currently one of those responsible for the revised Misuse of Drugs Act which is going through the Oireachtas at the moment. The coming weeks will be very interesting to say the least!
