An Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to the United States yesterday had to turn back to its origin 90 minutes after departure due to a medical emergency.
Flight 123 was on its way to Chicago when the emergency was declared and the flight turned around just south of Iceland.
A doctor on board assessed the passenger before making the decision to turn back and crew requested that emergency medical services be available to board the aircraft as soon as possible after they reached the terminal.
The aircraft landed safely back in Dublin at 3.35pm.
