Residents and supporters of the Apollo House movement will take to the streets tomorrow to call for Government action on homelessness.
The march will begin at 12noon and will travel from Apollo House to Government Buildings on Merrion Square, with the public urged to take part.
The aim of the protest, organised by Home Sweet Home and the Irish Housing Network, is to urge the Department Of Transport to make NAMA-owned properties available for social housing.

“Ireland has obligations under EU and international law to provide social housing for all the people of Ireland who are in need of a roof over their heads, including those who are sleeping rough, in emergency accommodation or have been evicted, had their homes repossessed or unable to afford the exorbitant prices currently being charged in the private rental market,” said the group.
“The Minister for Finance is failing in his duty to the people of Ireland by not exercising his powers under the NAMA act to direct NAMA to make proper and adequate housing stock immediately available to local authorities around Ireland.”
