The Irish Independent is reporting that the body of a man that was found on a Welsh beach is that of missing Dubliner, Brendan Burke.

The 71-year-old had been missing since November 15 and was last seen at Stocking Lane in Rathfarnham in Dublin.

Welsh Police confirmed that Gardaí in Dublin helped them to identify that the remains were that of Brendan Burke.

His next of kin have been told about his death and the coroner for North West Wales has also been notified.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

The process of bringing his body home to Ireland is underway.
