Gardaí are examining a blood-stained note found in a car reportedly belonging to Mark Hennessy, the man who was wanted in connection with abducting Jastine Valdez, RTÉ is reporting.

In an update broadcast as part of tonight's episode of Claire Byrne Live, reporter Paul Reynolds said that a body which was discovered earlier today has been removed from the Puckscastle area of South Dublin. He added that the note was found in the Qashqai car in which Hennessy was traveling before he was fatally shot by Gardaí last night.

A statement released this afternoon said "Gardai investigating the disappearance of 24-year-old Jastine Valdez have discovered the body of a female in the Puckscastle area. The body has not been formally identified.

"Gardai wish to appeal for privacy for the Valdez family at this time."

The Irish Mirror reports that the note alluded to the location of the body discovered this afternoon.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the vicinity between 6pm on Saturday until 8pm on Sunday to contact them at Bray Garda Station at 01-6665300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
