BREAKING: Shot Fired During City Centre Struggle Involving Gardaí This Morning

An investigation has been launched after an early-morning struggle between a member of the Gardaí and a number of other people, the Irish Independent are reporting.

The incident took place in the early hours of this morning near Grand Canal at Kingsland Parade in Portobello, South Dublin. A firearm was discharged after an off-duty Garda tackled three people to the ground.

Michael O’Toole, crime correspondent for the Irish Daily Star, is reporting that a man was shot in the shoulder during the struggle.
