A man in his 50s has died after being struck by a truck on the South Circular Road this evening.

The unidentified man was rushed to hospital following the collision on Emmet Road earlier today and Dublin Live is now reporting that he has now tragically passed away.

Motorists are still being being diverted away from the scene of the incident, where Dublin Fire Brigade and An Garda Siochana were in attendance.

According to AA Roadwatch, gardaí are directing traffic at the SCR junction and traffic was quite busy both ways on the SCR through Kilmainham as a result.

"Also, outbound traffic is busy on St. John's Rd West heading to the SCR jct, with delays back to the Military Rd jct."
