Crowds gathered on O’Connell Street Bridge last night as the Dublin Fire Brigade rescued a man who was having difficulty in the River Liffey.
The emergency services rescue boat was deployed to save the struggling man, with six fire engines arriving on the scene with crews from Dublin Fire Brigade headquarters and Donnybrook.

The incident took place around 10.30pm last night and was resolved within minutes. It is not yet clear how the man had gotten into difficulty.
