It reopened the following day

Fade St Social – the restaurant owned by Dylan McGrath, which was served with a closure order by the FSAI last month – has released a statement clarifying the reasons behind its closure in July.

According to the post, which was published on Facebook, then copied to Twitter:

We had a plumbing issue that had to be fixed and we had no alternative but to close on the Friday night. Sorry, hope this didn’t cause too much inconvenience.

The post goes on to re-emphasise that "the issue was fully resolved and we were open the following day".

The full statement can be read here.

According to the FSAI Act under which the closure was carried out, such orders are served "where an authorised officer is of the opinion that there is or is likely to be a grave and immediate danger to public health".
