Gardaí are investigating a second suspect in a horrific acid attack on a 32-year-old South Dublin woman last Friday.
The woman suffered ‘life-changing’ injuries after acid was poured in her face at around 10pm close to the Radisson Blu Hotel.
Now Gardaí believe another woman is involve, according to the Irish Independent.
The other woman may have “orchestrated” the attack according to Gardaí who claim the victim may have been attacked because of a ‘tangled relationship’.
The victim, a Chinese National, was reportedly pinned down on the ground before the corrosive substance was poured in her face on a pathway between Merrion Woods and Seamount Apartments.
A senior source at the Gardaí told the publication:
“This unfortunate woman is still undergoing extensive treatment to severe injuries to her eyes and left hand.”
“She has suffered life-changing injuries. Her injuries are absolutely horrific.”
Gardaí appealed for witnesses who saw anything suspicious in and around Rosemount Terrace, Fosterbrook, Merrion Woods and Seamount Apartments between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Friday.
The victim is currently being treated at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
