Three men have been arrested after Gardaí carried out major searches as part of Operation Thistle in Dublin 8.
Dublin Live reports that a man in his 50s was arrested at a house at Kilmainham Bank after heroin with a street value of €25,000 and €6,000 cash was seized.
Another man in his 40s was arrested after another search on Basin Street where heroin with a street value of €1,000 was found. The first man is being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act and the second is held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
A third man was arrested due to existing bench warrants at McCarthy Terrace.
A Garda spokesperson said:
“They contain 3.5 kilos of a powder like substance and it is believed they contain heroin and cocaine but this has not been confirmed as yet and we are awaiting forensic analysis.
“A car has also been seized for technical examination.”
