Garda Superintendent Gerry Wall has made a fresh appeal for information in the investigation into the assault on Kym Owens (18) in Maynooth last Sunday.

Kym remains in serious but stable condition after the horrifying attack at Moyglare Abbey housing estate.

Gardaí wish to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of the housing estate or anyone who travelled on the A2B coach service from Monaghan to Maynooth that was used by Kym on Sunday night.

They are investigating a number of different possibilities about how the attack happened. The possibility that the attacker was also on the bus was just one of many lines of inquiry.

If you have any information please contact Leixlip Garda Station on 016667800.
