Katie Taylor's promoters are set to hold talks at Croke Park this Friday.
The 39-year-old Olympic and world champion confirmed her intention to retire after a final homecoming fight in Dublin, due to take place this summer.
The Wicklow woman said she wants to end her career with a bang, at home, in her preferred venue, Croke Park.
The 3Arena and Aviva Stadium are also being viewed as options.
Sports promoters, Taylor's representatives and Croke Park officials are expected to meet this Friday for further negotiations.
Additionally, Independent councillors Christy Burke and Nial Ring will bring a motion before this month’s Dublin City Council Central Area Committee in support of an outdoor event license to also include games for Olympic gold medallist Kellie Harrington, wxorld Champion Pierce O’Leary and former Olympian Emmet Brennan.
Both former Lord Mayors said they’ll seek support from inner-city councillors to ensure any Dublin City Council event licence requires local boxers in the ring.
Councillor Ring commented: “It seems that there are still ongoing discussions between boxing promoters, Croke Park and Minister O’Donovan to have a homecoming event for Katie Taylor."
Councillor Burke added: "[They] are asking for support from fellow inner-city councillors that the planning department refuse an outdoor event license unless the promoters guarantee a homecoming slot for Kellie Harrington, International Boxing Organisation (IBO) World Champion Pierce O’Leary, and Emmet Brennan, who is a professional boxer and an Olympian who represented Ireland at the Tokyo Olympics.”
Up for committee review later this month, the motion calls for councillors to reject any licence that doesn’t meet these conditions and to relay that stance to Croke Park management, Minister O’Donovan, and promoters.
