seank

Luas passengers should expect disruptions this weekend, as work-to-rule will begin from midnight tonight for Luas workers.

Work-to-rule means staff will not do any work outside their designated rosters, which may cause problems during peak times on Saturday.

This is only the first phase of industrial action from the workers, who are also planning a 48-hour strike next Thursday, February 11 and Friday, February 12 and another 48-hour strike on Thursday 18 and Friday 19.

90,000 people a day will be affected by these strikes.

The 240 workers involved in the action are calling for an 8% to 54% increase in pay.

Those attending the Ireland v Wales Six Nations match at the Aviva Stadium this weekend may also be affected by the disruptions.
