Massive Delays On M50 After Man Cuts Toll Bridge Tag Reader Wires

katedemolder

Overhead cables on the M50’s Northbound toll bridge have been cut according to the Irish Independent, forcing the Dublin motorway to be closed for a time and reportedly causing over €100,000 worth of damage.

The incident is understood to have happened yesterday evening at about 9:30pm.

A man cut a number of wires on the bridge, shutting down the tag-reader software and thus allowing motorists to pass through “toll free.”

It’s also being reported that a video of the wires being cut was posted on social media.

The M50 reopened shortly after following negotiations.

A man is due to appear in court later today in connection with the incident.
