A serious accident took place on Merchants Quay this morning and has left the road closed.
A pedestrian in his 20s was struck by an articulated truck on the road just before 7am this morning and has been left in a critical condition.
Following the incident, Gardaí have put road diversions in place, which you can see below.

According to a report by The Irish Times, the unnamed man was rushed to St James’s Hospital.
