Those who remember watching the Clinton scandal unfold in the 1990s will need no introduction to Monica Lewinsky.
The former White House intern was at the centre of one of the biggest political scandals in U.S. history when it emerged in 1998 that she had been involved in a sexual relationship with President Bill Clinton. The saga made international headlines and at one point Lewinsky, then in her early 20s, was arguably one of the most famous people in the world.
Since then, she has been keeping a much lower profile but has become known for speaking out against abuse and cyberbullying at events around the world. The 45-year-old is currently in Dublin to speak at the 2019 Talent Summit and judging by a tweet she sent out, she’s been wasting no time in picking up the lingo.
Monica writes ‘Been in Dublin for only 24 hours and I’ve already dropped my “h’s” when I say “thanks” #tanks’ and while some might see this a tired old Irish stereotype, she does have a bit of a point.

Let’s try and get her to say “Well Oil Beef Hooked” next. This morning, Lewinsky was back online to praise what she calls ‘slice of toasty Irish bread smothered w/ melted Irish butter.’

No need for your fancy talk, Monica. That’s just toast.
