People Have Been Queuing Overnight For These Dublin Homes Costing From €410,000

Sarah

Queues formed overnight on Wednesday with people desperate to snap up a new three or four bedroom house in Kilternan in Co Dublin.

Booking deposits of €7,5000 were taken from those willing to cough up in the queue.

The Irish Times reports that twenty properties at Bishops Gate on the Enniskerry Road were reserved ahead of their private launch yesterday morning.

A notice handed out to people at the launch by Kelly Walsh property advisors and agents on Friday said: “Please be advised that a large queue formed on-site in advance of the opening of the show homes.

“In the interest of fairness and to avoid people waiting overnight we were instructed to take booking deposits from those in the queue, in the order they arrived on site.”

People wanting to buy these homes who weren’t top of Wednesday night’s queue have the option of being placed on a cancellation list.

The homes are priced from €410,000 for three-bed townhouses, while three bedroom semi-detached houses were from €430,000 and four bedroom semi-detached houses from €550,000.

One woman who was at the scene told The Irish Times:

“When I was there this morning the car park was chock-a-block and that was at nearly half ten. They were officially open at half nine. The car park probably had room for about 40 cars and there was a queue to get into the car park and I was an hour late,” she said.

Madness.
