The pain of losing your garden might be worth it after all.

Homeowners set to lose part of their front garden because of the new bus routes could get tens of thousands of euros in compensation.

Announced yesterday, the project could affect up to 1,300 people.

According to Independent.ie, the compensation paid to those affected could be up to €25,000 per square metre.

It is not reported whether Dublin City Council will be compensated for the loss of street parking.

Meanwhile, property experts fear that the new bus lanes will wipe up to a quarter of the value of some homes on the new routes.

Do you think the compensation will make it worth it? Let us know in the comments.
