'The Duel Of Dun Laoghaire' – The Claws Are Out Between These Two Fianna Fáil Candidates

Only a few weeks to go, and it's looking like the 2016 General Election is going to be a proper dinger.

But for all the big-picture questions – namely how the hell is anyone going to form a government when things are this fragmented – we're already starting to see some of the compelling tales start to unfold at a local level.

We always knew Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown would be one to watch, particularly given Ceann Comhairle Sean Barrett's automatic re-election means the four-seater effectively becomes a three-seater.

But throw in the addition of Mary Hanafin to the Fianna Fáil ticket – despite losing at the selection convention, and having previously supported a one-candidate strategy herself – and one of the biggest barneys of all looks set to be this internal one.

Richard Chambers from Newstalk reported on the 'Duel of Dun Laoghaire' on today's Pat Kenny Show, and it's an absolute cracker that shows that the claws are really out.

You can listen above, or click here – but either way, make sure you check this out.

Man, this election is gonna be fun...
