The Grafton Lounge Is Closing – But There’s Something New About To Pop Up In Its Place

Farewell, Grafton Lounge. 

We can't say that you were our favourite bar in Dublin. Or indeed one that we ever went into. Ever. But one thing that's for sure is that you were definitely very... well... you, um, existed.

And nobody can deny that.

The venue's owner Noel Anderson announced today that it's going to be closing after six years, to make way for a new bar backed by the team behind The Bridge 1859 in Ballsbridge – Noel along with rugby players Jamie Heaslip, Dave Kearney, Rob Kearney and Sean O’Brien.

In a statement today, Noel said:

“While it’s sad to say goodbye to The Grafton Lounge, we’re very excited about our new venture.

"Dublin is constantly evolving and it’s time to create something fresh and new. The success of The Bridge 1859 has shown us that we have a great team who can create great bars!”

Can't argue with that – and we're pretty excited to see what they've got up their sleeves ahead of the new bar's opening in August.
