Before the sun rose this morning people all around the country were out raising awareness for the hugely important work of those at Pieta House. The Darkness Into Light event is now in its tenth year and there are roughly 180 venues across Ireland and the world.

One of those is the Phoenix Park in Dublin where Taoiseach Leo Varadkar joined 15,000 other to raise vital funds for suicide prevention this morning.

An army of now iconic yellow t-shirts would have worked up quite a hunger and nearby White Moose Café was on hand with a plan to donate all takings from 6.30am to 7.30am to Pieta House. The venue later posted on Facebook to announce that the gesture was being extended until 'the last yellow t-shirt leaves the café'.

Did you take part in Darkness Into Light this morning or maybe you have a yellow t-shirt from a previous year? Get yourself over to Phibsboro to bag a decent feed for a great cause.
