A 16-year-old boy recently had his leg broken by a vigilante group operating in the Crumlin area, according to reports.

It’s understood that the teenager was involved to a “high-end bicycle stealing gang”, with four young men stealing bikes before selling them for up to €1,000 on Done Deal.

According to the The Sunday World, the teen was forced into a van and assaulted by the vigilante group in December.

However, gardai are unable to fully investigate the incident and he has not reported the crime.

The newspaper claims that several teenagers are stealing expensive bicycles “night after night” and are under the influence of “older gangland criminals”.
