There has been a lot of talk around Enda Kenny’s St Paddy’s Day trip to visit Trump in The White House.
A petition protesting against his visit currently has over 33,000 signatures online.
This evening Kenny has spoken out his White House visit at a joint press conference with British PM Theresa May in the Government Buildings.
“I intend to accept the invitation and I do so for a number of very specific reasons”

“We have had great influence in the US over the years, we still have that influence and we intend to use it so I think actually it’s more important now than ever before to be able to speak face-to-face with the American President.”
