A horse has broken free and ended up on the M50, according to several road users.
Gardaí are on their way to the scene, and drivers have been urged to be extra cautious between the Ballymun and M1 exits.
It follows an earlier incident on a southside section of the motorway, where a car burst into flames – then reignited after being extinguished.
