Last night was the finale of Planet Earth, ‘Cities’. We saw monkeys doing parkour, birds showing off their cars and fish eating birds.
One of the most affecting scenes last night was of baby turtles trying to make their way to the sea for the first time, but being confused by the city lights and heading in the wrong direction.
The turtles had to face predators like crabs, being run over by cars, falling in storm drains and then being too tired to carry on.
For those who missed it, here’s a short clip:
While the crew make a general point only to observe and not interfere with nature, the BBC Earth Twitter account said that the turtles filmed were put back into the sea by a local volunteer group.
Every turtle that was seen or filmed by the #PlanetEarth2 crew was collected and put back into the sea.

BBC Earth also posted a video showing the work done by the Barbados Turtle Patrol Staff to save the turtle hatchlings.
You go little baby turtles.
