Dublin City Council looks set to vote on a significant change to the city’s street signs.
According to The Sunday Times, several councillors have called for a return to the traditional green signage, rather than the more modern blue signs that you’ll see around town.
The font of the blue signs was created for the British motorway network in the 1960s and was branded “too bland” by representatives, who have requested that a more bespoke design be introduced.
“This is an opportunity to look at something more uniquely Irish. It’s to do with the identity of the city and the streets,” said Green Party Cllr Ciaran Cuffe.
