This Isn't Cool Starbucks - Stop Cutting Down Dublin Trees

Starbucks are one of the biggest chains in the world and it they seem to be popping up all over Dublin at the moment. They make a big deal about their coffee being fair trade and looking after the environment but it would seem that doesn't apply to their own shops. A new Starbucks is opening on Leeson Street today and to help achieve that sleek minimalist look that their brand is known for they've been busy cutting down trees today.

Dubliners Are Not Happy

We don't have enough greenery around the city as it is so fair play to Wayne Cronin for spotting this and taking the photos.

The Tree Cutters In Action

From these photos you can see the before and after. Seems a shame to be cutting down trees that have taken years to grow and are brightening up a street with nothing but large buildings. What do you think?
