PICS: Huge Crowds (And Glen Hansard!) Turned Out Today For The #Right2Water Protest

Sarah

The ninth Right2Water protest took place in the city centre today and HUGE crowds turned out from all over the country in protest of the proposed water charges.

Protesters assembled at Heuston and Connolly Stations at 2pm this afternoon, where both groups marched on towards Dame St where a stage and televised screens had been set up.

Music and speeches by our very own Glen Hansard, poet Stephen Murphy and medical campaigner Vera Twomey moved the audience, who were mainly carrying placards and banners.

Check out the massive numbers who took to the streets:

Irish people sure aren’t shy about standing up for what they believe in anyway are they?
