Since early this morning, tens of thousands of people have been making their way to the Phoenix Park to witness Pope Francis celebrating mass later today.
Coming from all parts of Dublin and beyond, people are undertaking mammoth journeys to see the historic moment and the queues for toilets as far back as the Kylemore Road gave some indication of what was to come...

The mass is expected to get underway around 3.30pm in front of an estimated 500,000 people.
