After making such strides towards gender parity, this felt like a major step back, and a sickening disappointment.

In order for a sportsperson to be paid a massive salary, it has to be commercially viable. There has to be bums on seats in the arena to see that person play. Can we be angry that there weren't any women on the list, when we have never handed over cash to support a women's team?
