- 1 Litre of Cider
- 500ml of Apple Juice
- 5 Tbsp Caster Sugar
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 2 Star Anise
- 5 Cloves
- 1” Piece of Ginger
This is an alternative to the classic mulled wine. I have never really been a fan of mulled wine, I always found it too strong and harsh to drink easily and as soon as it cools down a little it is just undrinkable.Mulled cider on the other hand is sweet, light and fragrant. Plus it still tastes damn good when it has cooled down, so win win. When choosing a cider you don't need anything too fancy as you are going to be infusing it with so many other flavours. That being said a can of Devils Bit will not cut it. Go for something middle of the road.
Slice up the ginger.
Then add all of the ingredients into a large pot.
Turn it onto a medium heat and place the lid on top.
When the cider starts to simmer it is good to go, pour into glasses.
This is a very handy drink for parties and get togethers during the winter months.
