Brasserie Sixty6

Brasserie Sixty6 has been a fixture on George’s Street, part of the hipster triangle, for nearly 15 years.

Despite the waves of new restaurants that have come and gone, they’ve remained. Thankfully.

If you’re going off the al a carte menu, the brasserie could set you back quite a bit. But they have good deals going, and half-price cocktails on Tuesdays and Sundays.

Sure, I love a good bargain.

Part of why this restaurant has remained so popular is its willingness to cater to people with restricted diets. There’s a specific vegetarian menu and not only do they have coeliac options, but they also have marked dishes which can be adapted to be coeliac as well.

We went for the three-course menu as part of a deal we’d bought online, which also included a bottle of house wine and two prosecco cocktails. Again, love the bargains.

And this one was pretty superb.

To start we had the goats cheese tart and the mushroom soup. Both were really flavoursome, but the mushroom was just perfect with the truffle oil and the creamy texture.

For the mains we had the butternut squash risotto and the vegetable tagine. These dishes were not as impressive as the starters, like the risotto was nice but nothing special.
