Craft Beer of the Week – 3 Craft Beer Events Not To Be Missed This Weekend

doerthewoltermann

It might seem like the entire world is heading to Electric Picnic this weekend. But fear not, there is plenty of craft beer fun happening right here in town to keep those of us who aren’t going entertained.

The most important event for us at the Dublin Ladies Craft Beer Society is of course our 1st Birthday Bash. I can’t believe it’s been a year since our first event. Things have been moving at an absolutely crazy pace and we have had so much fun along the way. We now have over 200 members and as of this week, 1,000 followers on Twitter! We have members from 6 continents and a multitude of countries including South Africa, Australia, South Korea, the US, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and of course Ireland. 4 continents and 5 countries between the 6 of us in the picture below alone.

We have done so many fantastic things like brewery tours, beer dinners, speaking at beer festivals, winning a gold medal with one of our home brews, attending all kinds of events, and even brewing our own commercial beer in collaboration with Metalman, which will be available in pubs in a couple of weeks time. We have had lots of attention from the media, have been featured in several magazines and websites, and we have an interview with one of the major national newspapers coming up soon!

We have had a blast in the past year and I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for us. Our birthday bash is happening TONIGHT (Friday) from 7.00 PM in The Brew Dock. Everyone’s invited, so come along and join the fun!

Also happening tonight is the next Brews We Plate dinner. Check out my recent interview with Eric and Flo – they are absolute geniuses at what they do and there’s no doubt that this will be another fantastic event. This time they are teaming up with Eight Degrees and the ingredient list looks extremely intriguing. This event is taking place at Brother Hubbard and starts at 7.30 PM. All the info and the link to book tickets can be found here.

Afterwards, hop on the Luas down to Brew Dock and celebrate our birthday with us!

Hopefully everyone will have recovered by Sunday, because it’ll be time for more culinary delights from Brews We Plate, combined with more craft beers and live Blues music. “Brews, Blues & BBQ” is brought to us by Sheary’s in Crumlin, just a 10 minute bus trip from College Green. They have brought in some lovely Irish craft beers especially for the event and are even installing a cask engine for the day. Eric and Flo will be cooking up Mediterranean Burgers, Black Pudding Sausages and Philly Cheesesteak from 4.00 PM. No less than 3 ‘Craft Beers of the Week’ will be pouring amongst others: Amber Ella, Rascal’s Ginger Porter, and Kinnegar Scraggy Bay. All info about the event here

As you can see, there’s lots of craic to be had in Dublin this weekend. Try new craft beers, eat top notch food and listen to deadly tunes. We’d love to see lots of you at our birthday party tonight. It’s the perfect opportunity to say hello, have a chat and – for the ladies – join!
