It’s Saturday- Kick Back And Relax With The Best Pizza in Dublin

emmakenneally

This is a contentious subject, as everyone has strong feelings as to who does the best pizza in Dublin. I did too until I tried this one and now I don’t think I can eat pizza from anywhere else and be equally satisfied. It’s Saturday and so high time to treat yourself for the weekend.

Up until recently if you told me there was a pizza nicer than the Bianca in Paulies Pizza I probably would have told you that you were delusional. But I tried Pizza E Porchetta recently for the first time and was blown away by how good they were. I had heard good things about them before but they’re based all the way over in Grand Canal which is ages away from where I live and I don’t have a car so hadn’t made a visit over there sooner. More fool me.

The pizzas were all incredible. Despite the pepperoni one looking the most food porny, the pear and taleggio cheese one (with all the rocket on top) was the nicest. Loads of sharp cheese and sweet pears made the perfect combination… It was just divine. The parma ham one, despite sounding the least exotic was incredible too. Really salty and cheesy, exactly what you want from a pizza.

The sausage and potato one with ricotta cheese was really good too but I don’t know if I could eat a whole one, better to get your friend to order it and steal a slice or two of theirs. The pizza bases were really light but had a nice little chew to it. Despite wolfing down almost an entire pizza I didn’t feel sickeningly full. I’m not sure if that’s a reflection on how light and fresh the pizzas are or how much of a hound I am. Either way they were delicious.

It is a proper sit down restaurant so you can go out and make a night of it, or get a takeaway pizza and have a movie night at home. The only downside is that they don’t deliver, but hopefully they’ll rectify that soon.
