8 Cosy Dublin Cafés Where You Can Escape A Dreary Autumn Evening

lia

The winter weather is back in full force, with those warm evenings replaced by driving rain and winds.

It’s definitely not enjoyable to be caught out in a shower and luckily, Dublin has a host of cafés that are the perfect haven from the elements.

Here are a few of our favourites…

Queen of Tarts, Dame Street

Renowned for their incredible sweet treats, this family-run Dame Street spot has a really homely feel. It’s perfect for after work catch-ups with a big pot of tea and of course, one of their delicious creations!

Queen Of Tarts

Accents, Stephen Street Lower

Tucked away, this is the kind of place where you could snuggle up with a book for the day. Great Wi-Fi and loads of squishy couches will make it hard to leave.

Roasted Brown, Temple Bar

This is a sneaky little spot located in Filmbase. It’s light and airy with super friendly staff and great coffee. Their comfy couches are perfect for whiling away the hours people watching or if you need to get some work done, just pull up a desk and you’re sorted.

Roasted Brown

Metro Café, South William Street

This low-key spot is the perfect place if you’re not sure whether you want a coffee or a glass of wine. Settle in for the evening and grab something from their all-day menu if you’re feeling peckish.

Metro Cafe

Kaph, Drury Street

Something of a hipster haunt, Kaph do some really good coffee, with great variations on the classics. If you can nab a spot inside their window, hold on to it for the evening and watch the hustle and bustle go by.

Roasted Bean Coffee Co, Talbot Street

When the wind and rain is rushing around you, there is nothing better than getting inside, peeling off your damp layers and sinking into a comfy chair with a cup of warm coffee in your hand. Look no further than this spot.

The Cobolt Cafe & Gallery, Great George’s Street

This cafe is set in a beautiful Georgian building and is the perfect hideaway from the cold autumn breeze. Pull up a chair, sit back and watch the world go past. This cafe is open later into the evenings (usually around 9pm) so it is perfect for a late evening coffee craving.

La Petit Breton, Drumcondra Road Lower

If you fancy something different, then head to La Petit Breton in Drumcondra. It is a café and crêperie all rolled into one. Sit back with a café au lait and enjoy. Bon appétit!
